Multi-AZ Redundancy

All production services run across at least two AWS availability zones. RDS uses Multi-AZ failover with automated DNS cutover.

Automated Failover

ECS auto-replaces unhealthy tasks within 30 seconds. ALB health checks remove failing targets in under 30 seconds. No human intervention required for single-AZ failures.

Backups

RDS automated daily backups retained 35 days. Point-in-time recovery to any second within the retention window. Cross-region backup snapshots weekly.

Monitoring

CloudWatch dashboards on every service. Synthetic checks every minute from three regions. PagerDuty pages on-call within 60 seconds of an alert.
